Who is this contest for?
Children in grades Kindergarten-5th Grade across the United States.
How will the contest work?
An adult (parent, guardian, teacher, family member... over the age of 18) will sign up at ReadingTheRedwoods.org. Once signed up, they will be able to access the list of 5 easy activities and links to make it fun and easy to complete them. Once the child has completed the 5 activities, the adult completes the finish form and will receive a certificate of completion that they can print for their child.
Did you say there are prizes?
Yes! Everyone who signs up will be entered to win one of the weekly prize packages. The weekly prize packages include a sweet backpack and some goodies from REI, a box of Z Bars from Clif Bar, and 4 books donated by the authors. Our thanks to REI, Clif Bar, and the authors for contributing to the weekly prize packages.
And there's a grand prize?
Yes! Everyone who completes the 5 activities and the finish form will be entered to win a 3-day, 2-night stay in Eureka in the heart of redwood country, a rental car voucher for $300, and some great activities like kayaking, horseback riding, and guided hikes (depending on weather and the winner's preferences). All this for up to 5 people! Our thanks to Eureka-Humboldt Visitors Bureau for generously donating the grand prize.
How much does it cost to participate?
Nothing! This is a free contest. The website will have the complete rules, terms and conditions if you want to dig into the details.
