Help “Every Kid in a Park” continue past this year- and get some visibility for your organization! Every Kid in a Park is a phenomenal program started by President Obama to give all 4th graders and their families free access to all public lands and waters for a year and it’s now in its third year. However, there are threats that it won’t continue after this point. Outdoors Alliance for Kids' (OAK: a national collaborative focused on connecting kids with nature) goal is to collect 1,000 postcards.  You can download the postcards here or OAK can mail hard copies if you have a group of 10 or more youth who can fill them out. By having students fill out the “I love my Every Kid in a Park pass because…” postcard (pictured below), we hope to share the impact this program has had on students and their families across the nation.

Senate Bill (SB) 5 has passed both houses and has now been signed by the Governor, placing a $4 Billion bond on the June 2018 ballot! California Senator President pro Tem Kevin de Leon has described the California Drought, Water, Parks, Climate, Coastal Protection, and Outdoor Access For All Act of 2018 as “the single largest investment in the history of the United States to park-starved communities.”  A growing group of partners has formed the Committee for Clean Water, Natural Resources and Parks to pass this bond. You can learn more about the committee and join them here
